How we work

Uncovering the essence of a project lies at the core of our practice. We strive to root each design in the unique potential of its setting, focusing on how it harmonizes with its surroundings. To us, every project and place is a dynamic, living system that calls for attentive listening and a thoughtful, adaptive approach.

At Studio Saar, we aim to go beyond sustainability, cultivating truly regenerative environments where all life can flourish. Our work is guided by the rich value born from cross-cultural exchanges—ideas, methods, and technologies merging to create innovative solutions. Operating across diverse contexts, we prioritize collaboration, research, and the sharing of knowledge to enrich our practice.

We believe architecture comes alive through the people who inhabit it. Every intervention we create is designed to evolve, shaped by the communities that call it their own. Our ambition is to spark ripples of hope that inspire meaningful transformation within these communities.

The trifecta - brief, site and precedents
Every project is constrained and evolved using inputs from the client’s brief, a global and local study of precedents and the specific context of the project.

Understand brief and ideate
Our practice is highly iterative in nature, constantly moving from hand sketches, to physical models, and technical drawings/ virtual models. This process allows us to investigate the proposal from multiple angles.

Constraints + Opportunities
At the initial brief development stage of a project we work hard to analyse a site. Mapping is a critical tool to understand constraints and opportunities. We don’t talk about problems as obstacles as they always provide valuable insight and can be used to direct a project forward.
