The original project plans for this site meant replicating the initial factory module three times to fill the site. That plan, though right at the time, no longer reflected the client’s ambitions with creating a workspace that was joyful and inspiring. Our commission was to design a new smaller connecting structure that would also improve people flow through the entire factory. Our approach was to sacrifice 2/3 of the area for green spaces that would be used for community events and build the stores and mou ld - shop to the south of the site. The façade used reclaimed rubble from the site and other construction waste and windows and window frames from Secure’s first factory.
