Inspiration for these homes has been taken from the worker housing found throughout the Nilgiri hills. The existing houses have warm red hue clay roofs with a single ridge and their linear forms follow the contour lines of the Nilgiri Hills topography. The project is comprised of three units which all have three bedrooms and overlook the Coonoor Valley.
Local stone is proposed for the ground floor structure with a lightweight timber and glass first floor for the living accommodation.
